Born in Brazil and with Paraguayan ascendancy, Marysol is an Architect and Urbanist with over 10 years of experience and broad international experience. She has expanded her professional repertoire for the past seven years while working in New York City. Her latest projects included several scales – interior design to master plan – and typologies. Some noteworthy examples include a record-breaking skyscraper, a massive military training base, some high-end mixed-use developments, the recladding of an occupied building, the redevelopment of a landmark building, and the design of a luxury hotel. By working in internationally recognized firms and institutions, she also had the opportunity to gain exposure to the particularities of many countries like the United States, Brazil, Spain, Turkey, Mexico, India, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, South Korea, and China

Marysol has her Master’s Degree in Architecture II from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design (GSD), and her thesis proposed alternatives for dealing with the growing urbanization of the Brazilian Amazon in distinct scales of intervention. To sponsor her master’s studies, she received several scholarships, and she was also granted the “Mexican Cities Initiative Fellowship” and the “Harvard-Brazil Research Fund” to conduct field research. During her studies, Marysol worked as a Research Assistant for the Harvard-Mellon Urban Initiative and as a Research and Teaching Assistant for an Urban Desing Option Studio at the GSD. She took classes at the Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), was a Student Ambassador for the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies, Class Representative and Vice-President of the GSD Band and of the Latin GSD, a student organization devoted to spread awareness and integrate students with interest in Latin America.

Before that, Marysol received her Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Urbanism at the Faculdade de Arquitetura e Urbanismo da Universidade de São Paulo (FAU USP), where her thesis was a research and design proposal exploring the correlations between music and architecture. During her undergraduate period, she studied one year at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Barcelona (ETSAB UPC), took several courses at the Engineering School (POLI USP), at the Philosophy, Language and Human Sciences School (FFLCH USP) of the University of São Paulo (USP). Between graduations, she worked at Brazilian offices, contributing to several phases (from conceptual design to construction) of residential, retail, and commercial developments, parks, and urban infrastructures all over the country.
